Ideas & Communication: Giving Ideas a Voice
Speaking is not merely stagecraft. It is the point where thought becomes public.
Through our work with SpeakEasy Lab, we are exploring how speaking programmes can help young people organise ideas, respond to questions and develop confidence before an audience. SpeakEasy Lab was co-founded by Mervyn Ye, formerly the general manager of a prominent local performing arts collective, and Gerald Wong, a Mediacorp radio host and veteran public-speaking practitioner.
Our objective is not simply to produce polished speakers. We want young people to develop something reasoned to say and the confidence to say it.
